Weight Loss Rules You’ll Love to Follow

Weight Loss Rules You'll Love to Follow

When most people decide to lose weight, ideas of deprivation, sacrifice and even misery usually come to mind. But they don’t have to. Weight loss can be and should be fun and enjoyable—if you have the right attitude

A positive mind-set greatly increases one’s chances of success, and when we make the journey towards any goal enjoyable, we achieve it with greater speed and stick with it for the long haul.

Below are weight loss rules that will help you hit your goal while having fun at the same time!

#1: Love what you eat.

When you eat or drink anything, do so slowly, mindfully and without distraction. By doing so, you’ll increase your enjoyment and slow down your eating which will allow you the time to notice when you’ve had enough. Avoiding overeating means that your body won’t have to convert any excess food into body fat.

#2: Don’t skip breakfast.

If you think you’ll be saving calories by skipping your morning meal, think again. During your sleep, your body is in fasting mode and the best way to jump-start your metabolism is to eat within the first hour of waking up.

Several studies have concluded that individuals who skip breakfast tend to over-eat at lunchtime or later in the day, offsetting all the calories they saved by skipping breakfast.

#3: Keep your workouts short.

You don’t need to spend hour and hours exercising to see result. In fact, spending too much time exercising could prove counterproductive. Your body may become too weak to stick to your exercise routine due to fatigue. The recipe for fitness success is to exercise for short time but consistently at least 5 times a week.

#4: Workout with your friends

Having a support network is a huge help while working towards your fitness goal. Make weight loss a team effort by asking friends with similar goals to work out with you. You can share success stories and disappointments, and have friends to whom you are accountable and who are also there to cheer you on.

#5: Don’t expect a miracle

This may be the most important rule of them all. It took you years to pile on the fat and you will be unrealistic to expect losing it all in two weeks or one month. Change and adjust your lifestyle habits one at a time. If you stay disciplined and consistent, the weight will start to come off.
